McLaren Artura Spider makes UK public debut at London event

The Outernet venue in London saw media personalities and McLaren customers gather for the UK public debut of the new McLaren Artura Spider, the latest addition to McLaren’s supercar lineup.

Guests were treated to a preview of the Artura Spider before entering the venue as films of the car were shown on giant LED screens overlooking Tottenham Court Road. Among the names at the event were singer Sam Ryder, rapper Tinie Tempah, train spotting personality Francis Bourgeois and former Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore.

McLaren claims that the new Artura Spider is the lightest supercar on the market at 1,457kg. This lightness is combined with the 690hp output of its hybrid powertrain which mates a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 with an electric motor. It is undeniably quick and can do 0-62mph in 3 seconds as well as a top speed of 205mph.

“Unveiling the new Artura Spider in McLaren’s home market is an immensely proud moment for us. The new Artura is the complete next-generation supercar, with more power, more dynamic performance and even higher levels of connection with the driver – without any compromise in everyday driving. The introduction of the convertible Spider adds a thrilling new dimension to the driving experience of this extraordinary car.”
Brett Soso, Regional Director - Europe, Middle East & Africa

Released alongside the Artura Spider is a new Artura coupe that shares the same capabilities. Prices start from £189,200 and are available to order now through McLaren’s UK retailer network.
