The victories just keep on coming for MG, as the British brand celebrated a hat-trick of wins at the Parkers New Car Awards 2024, with the MG4 EV scooping Parkers’ Best Small Family Car and Best Value Car in this year’s awards, as well as the prestigious honour of Car of the Year 2024.

In its seventh year, the 2024 Parkers New Car Awards try to mirror the fluctuating change in preferences of the UK's car-buying audience. The winners are determined by the website's reviewers, combined with the buying choices of the site's 2.3 million users.

"Taking the top honours in the Parkers New Car Awards 2024 is a remarkable achievement for a value-priced EV,” said Parkers’ editor Keith Adams. “It's a reflection of just how effective MG’s rebirth has been, transforming into a fast-growing brand concentrating on EVs.”

Since debuting last year, the MG4 EV has now secured more than 30 award wins, including nine overall ‘Car of the Year’ titles.

Kia EV6 triumphant again

The Kia EV6 was a winner once again after being named Best Large Family Car with judges praising its all-round appeal to buyers and stress free EV experience. It boasts a range of 328 miles with fast charging times, together with a modern design and spacious interior

This award win for Kia follows previous Parkers New Car Awards wins with the EV6 winning ‘Best Large Electric Car’ for 2023, and the Kia Sorento winning ‘Best Large Family Car’ for 2022. The EV6 has also picked up European Car of the Year for 2022.

Volkswagen Multivan retains Best Seven-Seater Car crown

The Volkswagen Multivan was named Best Seven-Seater in the awards list as judges noted its comfortable experience and versatile seating arrangement for a seven-seater with genuine room for adults. Available from £43,296, the Multivan comes with plug-in hybrid technology, reducing fuel costs for those long road trips.
