Alain Prost to attend 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed

The four-time Formula 1 World Champion will attend the event on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed’s Formula 1 celebrations have ramped up another notch with confirmation of the attendance of legendary driver Alain Prost. Prost is regarded as one of the greatest drivers in F1 history with 51 Grand Prix victories. He won titles in 1985, 1986 and 1989 for McLaren, before a four-year wait for his final title in 1993 with Williams.

The Frenchman’s third appearance at the Festival of Speed comes as the event celebrates 75 years of the F1 World Championship. It also coincides with two significant anniversaries for Prost, having turned 70 in February, while this year also marks 40 years since that first World Championship in 1985. Prost will get behind the wheel of the McLaren MP4/2B he drove to the title once again, taking it up the famous Goodwood Hill.

“No celebration of Formula 1 would be complete without him”

Four-time World Champion Alain Prost said: “The Festival of Speed is a wonderful place to experience the culture and tradition of motorsport and the full history of motor racing, so I’m looking forward to seeing the celebration of 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship. I can think of no better place to celebrate the history of Formula 1, and two very significant landmarks in my own life.”

The Duke of Richmond CBE DL said: “I am absolutely thrilled that Alain is returning to the Festival of Speed to celebrate his glittering career, and join us as we celebrate 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship. No celebration of Formula 1 would be complete without him, and it will be great to see him back behind the wheel of at least two of his most iconic cars.”

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from Thursday 10 – Sunday 13 July 2025.
