Alfa Romeo reveals 115 year anniversary logo
Alfa Romeo has unveiled a minimalist and contemporary new logo to celebrate 115 years of history.
While the specific anniversary date of the brand’s formation falls on June 24, the presentation date of Alfa’s new logo has been chosen specifically as it coincides with the historic victory at the 1930 Mille Miglia with Tazio Nuvolari and the debut of the Quadrifoglio at the 1923 Targa Florio.
The new logo will be used by official clubs and at events and rallies around the world.
Other Significant Anniversaries
This year happens to be a poignant one for Alfa Romeo in many ways, with significant anniversaries of so many special moments from its illustrious history.
There are the centenary celebrations for the legendary Alfa Romeo GP Tipo P2, which won the first World Automobile Championship with Antonio Ascari and Gastone Brilli-Peri behind the wheel. The car was designed by Vittorio Jano and put Alfa Romeo firmly among the world’s motoring elite.
This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the Tipo 158 ‘Alfetta’, which was driven by Nono Farina to become the first World Champion in the history of F1. The Italian company was also making a splash at the 1950 Paris Motor Show with the reveal of the first Alfa Romeo car to be produced on a large scale - the 1900. A total of 21,304 units would be produced until 1959.
Five years after the reveal of the 1900, the 1955 Turin Motor Show was the location for the introduction of the Giulietta Berlina, a model that brought ‘elegance and dynamism’ to Italians. This was followed in 1965 by the presentation of the Giulia Sprint GTA at the Amsterdam Motor Show. It would go on to have success on the track, taking victories across the world.
