Ferrari makes it three wins from three races at Spa
Another win in the WEC for The Prancing Horse
While Ferrari’s indifferent form continues into the 2025 Formula 1 season for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, the Prancing Horse’s fortunes in the World Endurance Championship couldn’t be more different. Drivers James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi secured the win for their Number 51 Ferrari AF Corse in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, putting them top of the Drivers’ standings after three races.
Victory in Belgium was also the third consecutive win in a row for Ferrari AF Corse in the hypercar class, following wins in Qatar and Imola and keeps them ahead in the Manufacturers' Championship. It is reminiscent of Ferrari’s 1972 season in the World Sportscar Championship, where the team achieved three victories in the first three races at the 1,000 Kilometres of Buenos Aires, 6 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.
An Impressive 1-2
In front of 98,000 watching fans, Ferrari AF Corse put on a show in the 499P with both Number 50 - crewed by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen - and 51 cars doing battle at the front of the grid. Despite both cars managing tyre performance across the six hours, Italian driver Antonio Giovanazzi eventually came out on top, crossing the line just four seconds ahead of Dane Nielsen.
James Calado #51: “After the free practice sessions, we knew this 6 Hours wouldn’t be an easy race, and we prepared accordingly, focusing on how best to manage the tyres, as we demonstrated today. Winning two races in a row is an extraordinary achievement. I want to congratulate my teammates and the entire team.”
All eyes on Le Mans
The focus will now turn to the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 14 June – 15 June, where Ferrari will look to continue its impressive form following back to back wins in 2023 (the centenary event) and 2024.
