Ford Escort Mk1 by Boreham Motorworks set to be revealed

December 12th launch

Back in June, it was revealed that Boreham Motorworks were to produce a series of continuation and remastered Ford vehicles after signing a worldwide, brand licence agreement with the Ford Motor Company.

We were told that the first of these continuation models was to be a Ford Escort Mk1, and now we have a launch date of December 12th.

Not an EV or hybrid

Boreham Motorworks says it exists to “celebrate some of the road, race and rally icons of Ford and its important heritage”. Guided by that heritage, the Mk1 will use a petrol engine and manual transmission only and steps away from the direction many modern day restomods are heading in.

The new Escort is set to blend cutting edge engineering and design with the driving spirit of the original Rallye Sport icons, with Boreham Motorworks referring to the continuation model as the One True Descendant.

“A car designed to be driven”

Iain Muir, DRVN Automotive Group CEO: "At DRVN, we understand that true automotive passion comes from the connection between driver and machine—a relationship forged in the sound, feel, and response of a car designed to be driven. The Ford Escort Mk1 embodies this ethos, blending timeless design with performance that inspires confidence and joy. We design for the road, not the runway. We embrace everything drivers love about cars."
