Ginetta Unleashes the 2024 G56 GT4 Evo
British manufacturer Ginetta has revealed the 2024 G56 GT4 Evo, the latest creation and successor to the original G56 GT4. The car will make its racing debut in the hands of customers next year in GT series and endurance racing with significant enhancements being made in areas to improve the car’s performance on track. Homologated for the international stage in the GT4 class, it is eligible for competition within a variety of global endurance and sprint racing series.
Founded more than 60 years ago, Ginetta was taken over by Le Mans-winning entrepreneur Lawrence Tomlinson in 2005 and has grown substantially in recent years to provide racers, drivers and enthusiasts with an exciting range of products and services. While most British sportscar companies now operate and are owned by overseas investors, Ginetta remains proudly British with its GQ in Leeds and will compete in the SRO Motorsports Group series for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Among the other improvements made to the car are adjustments to the suspension, roll development, higher platform height and larger wheels and tyres on both axles, providing a more balanced and competitive race car over extended periods.
Cooling has been a main focus for Ginetta, with revisions to improve tyre heat and degradation, as well as a resigned bonnet which plays a vital role in maintaining the optimal temperatures in both the engine area and cockpit. Air conditioning improvements to keep the drivers cool have also been made.
The resigned bonnet - along with the rear wing - also improves the aerodynamic profile of the car. Expected to reach a top speed of 165mph, and producing 500bhp, the G56 GT4 Evo will be a fearsome competitor on track.
Mike Simpson, Ginetta's Director of Motorsport, said: “The 2024 G56 GT4 Evo is an upgrade in every possible area. “We have had many cars circulating in endurance racing in tough climates over the last years, the Evo upgrade is the accumulation of listening to customers/teams and developing what we believe is the best GT4 car on the market.”
“We have strived for greater top speeds within the Balance of Performance (BOP) management, adding weight lower down in the chassis gives us some wins in safety and torsional stiffness. The increased weight and higher ride height of the car has allowed for more emphasis on the straight-line capability of the Ginetta, making it a very competitive car for both gentlemen and professional drivers.”
Just 20 cars will be produced in the G56 GT4 Evo’s first year of competition, with half already reserved by existing customers. Ginetta conducted extensive testing at Blyton Park, Silverstone and Donington Park before securing victory in the 4-hour Ultimate race at Magny-Cours in France. Further testing will take place at the Creventic Middle East Cup to ensure it is ready for customers in 2024.
