Introducing two Honda 0 Series prototype models

World Premiere at CES 2025

The reveal of a Honda concept is always an occasion that garners widespread interest in the automotive world. Last year, the Japanese brand introduced its 0 Series with two concept models at the CES 2024 event in Las Vegas.

Honda returned to the world's gambling capital for this year’s event to present updated prototype versions of the 0 Series concept models. The plan remains for them to be introduced to the North American market in 2026 before hitting Japan and Europe, while further 0 Series models will join the lineup by 2030. Honda also took the opportunity to showcase the ASIMO OS, its original vehicle operating system, which will be applied to its EV series.

Honda 0 Saloon

The Honda 0 Saloon prototype maintains a similar look to last year’s concept, sitting low to the ground but aerodynamically and almost Lamborghini Gallardo styled with a swooping look to cut through the air. Despite looking cramped for space on the inside, the Saloon boasts a large interior that Honda says “is more spacious than people would expect based on the exterior dimensions.” The Yoke steering wheel remains from last year’s concept, while the infotainment screens stretch across the cockpit seamlessly and include screens on either end in place of wing mirrors.

It is set to become the flagship model of the Honda 0 Series and will be built using brand new dedicated EV architecture with several new technologies that fall under its ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ development approach. The ‘Wise’ part of the Honda 0 Saloon was showcased at CES 2025, which will offer automated driving technology giving each person behind the wheel a personal driving experience tailored to their needs.

Honda 0 SUV

The wackiness of last year’s Space-Hub concept model has been toned down somewhat, with the boxy rear slightly smaller. It will be the first Honda 0 Series model and is defined as a mid-size EV SUV, although there’s no denying that space comes in abundance. Space is the main theme here and Honda says the cabin has been designed to give “an outstandingly clear and unrestricted field of view with great flexibility.”

Precision driving will be achieved using new technologies like 3D gyro sensors to “enable dynamics at the will of the driver on various road surfaces.”

ASIMO OS

The new 0 Series cars will contain something called ASIMO OS technology. The name is based on the walking Honda robot from 2000, which was created after 14 years of robotic research and development.

The operating system, created by Honda, will control electronic control units for vehicle systems such as automated driving / advanced driver assistance systems and the in-vehicle infotainment system.

The system constantly overhauls itself, even after purchase, with over the air updates tailored to suit the needs of each user.
