One-of-a-kind Ferrari Daytona SP3 to be auctioned at Monterey Car Week
Ferrari will donate a one-of-a-kind Daytona SP3 to be auctioned for charity by RM Sotheby’s during this summer’s Monterey Car Week in the United States.
Paying tribute to a legend
Originally unveiled in 2021, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 was the second car to join the limited edition ‘Icona’ series, which was launched in 2018 to celebrate Ferrari's history by reinterpreting some of the marque’s most iconic models.
Powered by a 5.6-litre naturally aspirated V12, the Daytona SP3 produced 828bhp, giving it a 0-62mph time of 2.85 seconds and a top speed of 211mph. Such figures were a fitting way of paying tribute to one of Ferrari’s most iconic V12 models that helped it reach unprecedented motorsport status and cement its racing heritage.
Black & Yellow
Built by Ferrari’s Tailor Made customisation program, the SP3 has been created separately from the original sold-out 599 allocation (officially numbered 599+1) and is presented in a special two-tone yellow and black carbon fibre finish. To complete the look—and for the first time on a Ferrari livery—the Ferrari typeface has been applied to the upper body in Giallo Modena yellow.
Inside, Ferrari has used fabric made from recycled tyres, while the dashboard and steering wheel column are crafted from carbon fibre, similarly used in Formula 1.
The special Daytona SP3 is fitted with a plaque to cement its unique status, and all proceeds from the auction of the car will go towards The Ferrari Foundation, which recently made a significant contribution - in collaboration with Save The Children - to help rebuild the Aveson Charter School in Altadena, California, whose campus was destroyed by the Eaton Wildfire earlier this year.
Monterey Car Week 2025 is scheduled to take place from Friday 8th August to Sunday 17th August.
