BMW X7 M60 - Still better than a Range Rover?
The latest X7 I have to test is the new 2024 M60 variant, and by quite some margin, the new car is considerably more expensive, ludicrously more powerful and even more garish in its styling than its predecessor. The X7 M60 is powered by BMW M's 4.4 Litre TwinPower Turbo V8 petrol engine, pushing out 530 hp and 730Nm of torque.
Toyota C-HR Review - “And now for something completely different”
How you feel about a car’s design when it is first released. may differ from how you feel about it in several years time. The Toyota C-HR has also divided opinion, however, both when it was originally released in 2016, and now in the present day. Graham Courtney gave it a closer inspection and wrote his opinions.
Kia Sportage PHEV - Range anxiety is a thing of the past | Review
Graham Courtney sometimes feels as if his whole life is on charge. With the new UK ruling coming in 2035, any new car we buy is likely to be on sitting on charge too at some point. Although, does something Kia Sportage PHEV bridge the gap between the ways of the past and future?
Jaguar F-Type R75 Coupe Plus - The Final Roar
Since 1922, Jaguar has been a manufacturer of sports cars, such as the Jaguar XK120, C-Type, D-Type, and E-Type. The brand has been associated with competition, victory, and engines that roar unapologetically. But we're now at a turning point where, in the not-too-distant future, Jaguars will roar no more. To explore this poignant fact, I decided to recap on the final iteration of the Jaguar F-Type, the V8 Supercharged R75 Coupe Plus.
Mercedes-Benz CLE Review - This swooping coupe is a C-Class act
When looking out of the window on a recent bus journey, Graham Courtney reflected on the demise of the pub industry on UK high streets. Luckily, the journey was to collect a Mercedes-Benz CLE he was testing for Driven with bags of kerb appeal and long distance cruising potential.
REVIEW | Audi RS6 Performance Vorsprung - Is this still the best fast wagon?
Now, who doesn't love a fast wagon? No, really. How can you argue about what they do for us? Space? Yes. Comfort? Yes. Practicality? But of course. Call me a broken record, but the wagon version of any car always seems to tip the scales in the looks department as well... No one else truly holds a candle to Audi where brutish, offensively fast estate cars are concerned, and many have tried. The king has been, for the longest time, the Audi RS6, always the benchmark, always the powerhouse.
Maeving RM1S Review - The Stunning British EV motorcycle just got even better
The Maeving RM1S has evolved from being a stylish EV motorcycle commuter confined to the 30mph roads to one that can now keep up with faster traffic on the dual carriageways. John Marcar was invited to the launch of the new Maeving RM1S in London to see what the new bike was like.
Ferrari - The Story of the Prancing Horse
The Ferrari Prancing Horse is one of the most instantly recognisable logos in the world and has adorned the front (and sometimes side) of its cars for decades now. The Prancing Horse started to be used on Scuderia Ferrari racing cars in 1932 and Ferrari sports cars 15 years later. To trace its origins, however, you have to look back in time even further to the story of an esteemed Italian fighter pilot.
Honda ZR-V Sport - The letters all add up nicely | Review
When it comes to the Honda range, a lot of it is a mix of letters and numbers, something that confused Graham Courtney in his later school years. However, Graham persisted past this obstacle to review the Honda ZR-V, an option worth considering in a crowded SUV market.
MINI Countryman goes Maxi | REVIEW
When you think of MINI, you cannot help but be drawn to the classic MINI Coopers from the Italian Job and the subsequent hatchbacks that put the British company on the map. Now MINI is going through major changes with 2024 seeing its entire range updated. Graham Courtney recently drove the new MINI Countryman, not mini in size but certainly a MINI in its DNA.
Volkswagen ID Buzz - All Electric MPV is the Buzzness | Review
One of the things on most travellers’ bucket list would surely be to venture on a long road trip in a classic VW Camper van, soaking in the sights and enjoying the practicality and style that comes with it. The vintage VW camper has always turned heads, but does the I.D Buzz - on sale for a year now - achieve the same? Graham Courtney took one for a spin to see whether it has bucket list potential.
VW Passat R-Line 1.5 eTSI - Effortlessly Good
Since the early 1970s, the Volkswagen Passat has been a familiar sight on streets worldwide. For the past 50 years, Passats have been owned, driven, and enjoyed by everyone from tradespeople to multi-millionaires. The Passat is synonymous with an entire catalogue of daily uses and, as a result, has been a familiar site outside schools, on family driving holidays, in executive office block car parks and parked with pride on just about every residential road in the country.
Nissan X-Trail - Review | Heading for the hills is X-Tra fun
For those who have a large family and enjoy going out at the weekends, the Nissan X-Trail might be the one you’re looking for. Already one of the bigger SUVs around, and with the choice of seven seats, it may just tick all the boxes. Graham Courtney took one for a spin just to make sure.
The BMW 5 Series is now £100k! - Review | BMW 550e (2024 G60)
In the UK, we have a very unusual way of measuring inflation. Sure, we could calculate inflation rates according to the Bank of England records, but that would be far too easy, comprehensive and sensible. Instead, we measure inflation by calculating the year-by-year price increase of a small chocolate frog, affectionately known as The Freddo Bar. Patriotic Brits have been tracking the price of the humble Freddo in accordance with inflation, and the results don't make for good reading. But I've found a new scale of inflation reporting. - While it's not chocolate, it is definitely equally recognisable: It's the BMW 5 Series.
Winter Riding | Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 - Review
At the time of writing (Winter 2024), we're still a little while away from what many would classify as 'riding season' here in Britain; however, when a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 rolls out of the back of a van for a press loan, the 'let's be sensible and stay inside' part of the brain very quickly becomes consumed by the 'hooray, a new motorcycle to ride!' part—I'm not entirely sure if neurologists have identified a scientific term for either of these emotions when related to motorcycling specifically.
The Ultimate 3 Porsche Garage - (None of which is a 911)
A sports car, a performance EV, and an SUV roll into a race paddock—it sounds like the opening to a strange joke or limerick, but I recently had the opportunity to test three of Porsche's most popular cars back to back on the surrounding roads of the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, and it got me thinking: Might I have found the ultimate 3-Car Garage?
Review | Maserati Grecale - Modena The SUV with Motor Racing Heritage
Shamefully, I've spent very little time behind the wheel of a Maserati, but that all changed when the kind folks at Graypaul Maserati Nottingham invited me to their showroom on a Friday afternoon with the promise of a new car for the weekend.
Peugeot 308 - A stand out, stylish hatchback
Before heading to his local pub for a well earned pint, Graham Courtney recently took the new Peugeot 308 out for a test drive. Good to drive, well-equipped, economical, comfy, has a premium interior, super-stylish exterior and a sensible starting price of £39,160. What’s not to love?
Who is BYD? | Feature Review - BYD SEAL Excellence AWD
This week, I finally got my hands on a car I've been excited to drive since learning of its arrival in the UK. It's a fast, sleek, and new EV attempting to take on the likes of Tesla, Kia, and Hyundai in the EV market. The BYD SEAL is likely to be a car seen and remembered as a turning point for the BYD brand and for many more, perhaps even the first BYD model that people take note of.
Dacia Duster Bi-Fuel Review | 730 miles for under £100
The Dacia Duster Extreme (TCe 100 4x2 Bi-Fuel) that I have on test has an on-the-road retail price tag of £20,945, which is pretty remarkable in terms of new cars, specifically small SUVs. Being the 'Extreme' model, it is also packed with safety, comfort and practicality features as standard.
