Fernando Alonso drives Aston Martin Valhalla in Monaco

The global dynamic public debut of the Valhalla took place ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix

Before the iconic streets of the Principality of Monaco became a cacophony of noise due to the roaring sound of V6 engines from the twenty Formula 1 competitors, Aston Martin chose to give a few early punters the first public glimpse of its new Valhalla supercar.

Behind the wheel was two-time Formula 1 World Champion and principal development driver for the Valhalla, Fernando Alonso. The Spanish driver took time out from F1 duties to showcase Aston Martin’s 1,064bhp hybrid-powered beast, after recently completing final validation testing for it both on road and on track.

Using Formula 1 performance-driven technologies in the development of the Valhalla, there could surely be no one better to give it its final sign off than a two-time World Champion. Alonso pushed the Podium Green liveried Valhalla around Casino Square and through the iconic Tunnel, flexing the full capability of its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and three additional electric motors.

Alonso said: “Having followed this project closely for the past 18 months and working alongside the development team, unveiling Valhalla’s dynamic capability to the world at the Monaco Grand Prix weekend is a fantastic moment for both myself and the brand. Taking Aston Martin’s unmatched luxury credentials and added cutting-edge F1 inspired technology and class-leading performance, I can confirm Valhalla is a true supercar both on road and on track. Outside of the outright power and dynamics, it delivers on all of the raw feelings and emotions you look for when behind the wheel of a car like Valhalla.”

If you need reminding of the numbers behind the Valhalla, it is capable of an electronically limited maximum speed of 217mph and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds. Only 999 Valhalla will be made, with deliveries set to commence in the second half of 2025.
