McLaren offers the chance to own a 2027 Le Mans Hypercar

McLaren will attempt to win motorsport’s unofficial Triple Crown in 2027 and will bring customers along for the ride as part of the Project: Endurance partnership programme.

The collaboration between McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing will see the opportunity to own an authentic Le Mans Hypercar, with a limited number of customer cars to be developed in parallel with McLaren’s 2027 WEC competitor.

Nick Collins, CEO of McLaren Group Holdings said: “In addition to owning the very latest LMDh race car - a driving sensation alone few will ever experience – customers will enjoy unique, wholly immersive access to the development and racing programme that will underpin our 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship contender. Together with the associated track driving programme curated for Project: Endurance, this incredible opportunity delivers a new dimension in McLaren customer partnership.”

McLaren’s Triple Crown Pedigree

The Woking-based marque is the only manufacturer to win the Triple Crown, which comprises the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Monaco Grand Prix, and the Indy 500.

As for drivers, the only man to achieve the feat is Graham Hill.

LMDh Hypercar powertrain

Both McLaren’s WEC Hypercar challenger and the Project: Endurance customer cars will be powered by a race-built V6 twin-turbo hybrid powertrain, with power heading to the rear wheels. McLaren United AS will develop this in partnership with Dallara, who are prominent in the IndyCar series.

Other Project: Endurance perks

As well as owning a Le Mans Hypercar, lucky customers will also get a full behind the scenes access to the upcoming McLaren Racing LMDh programme, team personnel and drivers as part of the ownership experience.

Further benefits include a two-year McLaren customer track programme that takes in some of the world’s best race circuits. McLaren pit crew and engineers will be on hand as support at these track events, while each owner will receive driver coaching from a professional.

According to McLaren, how much this will all cost and other further details will be revealed ‘as the programme matures.’
