Renault 5 Turbo 3E open for reservations

First deliveries scheduled for 2027

Reservations are open for the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, the French brand’s new resurrected classic “mini-supercar”. Cusomers are being encrouaged to fill out a form on their country’s Renault website as part of the first of three phases, which will eventually see Renault’s most powerful road car ever on the roads by 2027.

Speed, range and price

But first, the all important stats.

As mentioned before, Renault has created a new class called the “mini-supercar” for the 5 Turbo 3E due to its supercar width (2.03m), city car length (4.08m) and levels of performance.

The rear wheel drive Renault 5 Turbo 3E develops around 540hp with 4,800 Nm of torque. This, along with an all-carbon superstructure creating a weight of under 1,450kg, means it can accelerate from 0-62mph in under 3.5 seconds. It has a 70kWh battery and an onboard DC charger able to support up to 350kW. Charging from 15-80% takes 15 minutes, and in terms of range, it can be expected to last just shy of 250 miles.

Starting at £135,000 including VAT as an introductory price, this excludes options, accessories and personalisation, which could potentially take the price closer to the £200k mark.

It will be sold in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Australia, with just 1,980 examples being made.

Customisation

Following the reservation phase, the next phase in early 2026 will see customers being contacted by their dealer to begin personalising their Renault 5 Turbo 3E. This includes colours, with historic ones seen on the Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2, like Rouge Grenade sitting alongside the black, yellow and white racing livery used on the 1982 Tour de Corse rally winner.

There is then the opportunity for customers to meet Renault designers to create their own exterior and interior livery, with colours and materials being selected for a range of features, including the seats, door panels, and dashboard.

Customers will then be able to finalise the configuration and order their car from the dealer in the first half of 2027. Deliveries are then due to take place later that year.

Ivan Segal, Global Sales and Operations Director, Renault Brand: "On one hand, it (reservation scheme) allows customers to secure a priority order reservation within the network from today. On the other hand, it helps us finalise the development of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E and launch the first units in 2027. The Renault 5 Turbo 3E could not have come to life without this entirely new process, which demonstrates Renault Group's ability to innovate in the marketing schemes of extraordinary projects."

How can you see the Renault 5 Turbo 3E?

After the reservation phase has been completed, the car will be displayed at RNLT stores around Europe so potential customers can see it up close. The 5 Turbo 3E will then make its way to Goodwood for the 2025 Festival of Speed from 10 to 13 July.
