John Marcar heads to Brands Hatch for Round 3 of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge UK

All to play for at Brands Hatch

It is set to be a scorching weekend of racing action in Kent as Driven’s John Marcar and his fellow 296 Challenge drivers compete at the iconic Brands Hatch Circuit in the third race of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge UK.

In the Trofeo Pirelli class, defending champion Gilbert Yates leads the standings with 67 and is 14 points ahead of Pranav Vangala, a double race winner in Round 2 at Oulton Park. Behind them in third is Calum Leathem on 34 points, while John sits in fourth place on 28 points.

In the Coppa Shell class, just 8 points separate leader Mike Dewhirst (60 points) from Paul Simmerson (52 points), with Peter Hunter following close behind (50 points).

A special circuit for John

While for many drivers, Brands Hatch is just another circuit on the calendar, for John, the track holds a special significance for a variety of reasons.

Growing up in south west London, it was John’s closest circuit, and when getting started in the world of automotive events, it was Brands Hatch where he organised his first track day.

John has also had notable experience in recent times at Brands Hatch, having completed his qualifications and subsequently acquired his racing licence there earlier this year. While he has had plenty of track time on the Indy Circuit over the years, it will be the first time that John has raced on the GP Circuit.
