Four rare silver Aston Martins offered by Collecting Cars

‘Silver Bullets: Part II’ is live until June 29

Following the success of ‘The Silver Bullets & Red Arrows Collection’ - where a total sales value of £2,152,788 was achieved - Collecting Cars is back with part two, although this time, it’s just silver on offer.

The ‘Silver Bullets: Part II’ collection brings together four of the rarest Aston Martins spanning four decades of design for a seven-day auction window, starting on Sunday 22 June.

Edward Lovett, Founder of Collecting Cars, said: "Every one of these cars has a story – they’re four very different machines with four very different pasts. Whether it’s a development prototype, a centenary special, or a rare roadster, they all capture something essential about Aston Martin – style, exclusivity and the thrill of driving. And of course, they all share that unmistakably iconic Aston Martin finish – because let’s be honest, nothing says ‘Aston’ quite like silver. It’s a colour with a bit of cinematic pedigree."

Let’s look at the four Aston Martins in further detail…

1985 Aston Martin V8 Vantage ‘DP 2035’

This model is one of just two Vantage models later used by Aston Martin to develop modifications for the final production series of the V8 Vantage ‘X-Pack’.

After being delivered to Aston Martin’s main agent, Stratton, in 1965, the Vantage was borrowed and then bought back by the brand and used as a Works car. In recent times, it has been maintained by the Light Car Company and has had more than £25,000 spent on improvements by RS Williams. It is offered with its original wheels and bespoke luggage.

2012 Aston Martin Vanquish Centenary Edition

In 2012, Aston Martin intended to celebrate its 100th anniversary with the creation of 100 Vanquish Centenary Edition models. Ultimately, just 85 cars were delivered worldwide and the example being offered by Collecting Cars is number 82 of that fleet.

The bodywork is finished in a two-tone paint that required 18 hours of craftsmanship using a specialised mini jet spray technique, lacquer layering and hand polishing. Inside, the seats are covered in Obsidian Black leather and carbon fibre is used throughout.

2004 Aston Martin DB AR1 by Zagato

Coincidentally, this 2004 DB AR1 (American Roadster 1) is also number 82 of a limited production run of 99. It was created in partnership with Zagato and built for the American market. Presumably, the sunnier states were its intended target, as the AR1 was never fitted with a roof.

Finished in Silver Birch and fitted with a GT-spec V12 and six-speed manual gearbox, this model comes with many of its original accessories, including a numbered car cover and two umbrellas.

2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S

To the delight of many, this 2006 Vanquish S - finished in Skyfall silver - has undergone a full manual gearbox conversion carried out by Aston Martin Works, making it a true driver’s car. It is widely regarded as the last of the truly hand-built Aston Martins and bridges the gap between classic craftsmanship and modern performance.
