Hot Wheels reveals new F1 The Movie models
The 1:64 scale models will be available to buy ahead of the film’s release
In October last year, a multi-year partnership between F1 and Hot Wheels was announced, which will see a range of products from the most popular form of motorsport released to the sport’s growing fan base.
After two sold out launches so far, Hot Wheels has unveiled its latest 1:64-scale models, inspired by the upcoming F1 film and available for purchase this week.
What is F1 The Movie about?
Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and made in collaboration with Formula 1, F1 The Movie stars Brad Pitt as ‘Sonny Hayes’, an ageing driver who makes a return to the sport some thirty years after a near career-ending accident.
Hayes is convinced to return to the struggling Apex Grand Prix team by owner and former teammate Ruben Cervantes, played by Javier Bardem. At Apex, he paired alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a hotshot rookie who instantly takes a dislike to Hayes. Together, they are tasked with turning around the team’s fortunes from the back of the grid.

Product details
The 1:64 scale die-cast is a near replica of the APXGP F1 car design, featuring a moulded driver’s helmet, gold and black livery, and Hayes’ character’s number seven.
For the cost of £30, the car also comes with three sets of Pirelli tyres and a tyre storage rack, as well as a collector’s clamshell case.
“Our previous Formula 1 product launches were incredibly well received by racing fans and Hot Wheels collectors and now we can share a piece of the collection with film lovers around the world,” said Roberto Stanichi, executive vice president, Hot Wheels & global head of vehicles and building sets at Mattel.
“The APXGP die-cast allows Hot Wheels to connect with a new audience of moviegoers who now have the opportunity to own a 1:64 scale piece of cinematic and racing history.”
F1 The Movie hits cinemas in the UK on June 25th
